Otowave 202 & 202-H

Handheld diagnostic tympanometer

The Otowave 202 range is designed to help hearing healthcare professionals identify middle ear disorders such as otitis media or infections associated with the eustachian tube in young children.

The standard 202 provides 226Hz probe tone impedance measurements together with a user programmable range of both ipsi and contralateral reflex test measurements at 500Hz, 1kHz, 2kHz and 4kHz.

The 202-H features a comprehensive range of diagnostic test functions including user defined 226Hz and 1000Hz probe tone impedance measurements and a user programmable range of both ipsi and contralateral reflex test measurements at 500Hz, 1kHz, 2kHz and 4kHz. Both tympanometers are deal for paediatric doctors and audiologists who provide mobile newborn assessments.

Designed for small ears

Testing middle ear measurements for neonates and children is very fast and accurate, with diagnostic information displayed during and after the automatic test. Test settings can be defined according to the requirements of your little patient.

The specially designed probe has been created for small ear canals, meaning healthcare professionals benefit from faster tests and more accurate results. This tympanometer makes travelling between clinics or home visits easy, and in turn supports you and your patients needs.

Key features

  • Designed for handheld and desktop use
  • Dual power functionality
  • 226Hz probe tone
  • Optional 1kHz probe tone (202-H option) with admittance, susceptance and conductance measurements (YBG)
  • Live display
  • Ipsilateral and contralateral reflex frequencies (0.5, 1, 2 & 4k Hz)
  • Enhanced mode reflex test
  • Auto pass/refer evaluation
  • Fully customisable test protocol
  • User selectable measurement speeds
  • Internal memory, connection to thermal printer and/or PC.

Comprehensive testing abilities

When using in 226Hz probe tone mode, the compliance peak and pressure, gradient and ear canal volume can be measured within seconds. When using the Otowave 202-H option in 1000 Hz probe tone mode, users can select a preferred display by pressing the probe function key to switch between the following modes:

Scalar mode: a traditional admittance tympanogram, as above (Y only compensation)
Vector mode: a tympanogram displaying B-G compensation
Component mode: the separate admittance (Y), susceptance (B) and conductance (G) measurements are displayed for clinical review

User-defined ipsi and contralateral reflex test measurements can be added to the test sequence to ensure a comprehensive test routine. This user programmable acoustic reflex function includes reflex frequency selection, levels and sensitivity.

Recording and reviewing test results

Test results can be saved within the internal memory with a patient identifier, printed to the optional portable printer or transferred via a USB to a PC for viewing within our ampliSuite software or Noah impedance module. Patient data can be easily managed and organised.

If accessing mains power is a problem, the Otowave 202 will also connect to our optional USB portable power bank, so your testing needs are still met when power lets you down.
