The 2 day course content is based on a recommended syllabus of the British Society of Audiology (BSA), the Health & Safety Executive (HSE) ‘The control of noise at work regulations 2005’ and industry-specific requirements.
The 1 day course is a theory and practical course is designed for occupational health professionals who require a general updating of their skill and knowledge to complete screening audiometry in the workplace.
Content can include:
- The ear and threshold of hearing
- Noise-induced hearing loss and social handicap
- Techniques of air conduction audiometry (without masking)
- Audiometry practical session
- Audiogram categorisation and interpretation
- Written assessment
Amplivox occupational audiometry courses have been independently accredited and are registered to provide delegates with continuing professional development to maintain, develop/increase knowledge and raise professional performance standards for industrial audiometry screening programmes. Each course offers delegates a number of CPD points under the accredited programme and the 2 day course also provides competency based training for delegates who require this level of knowledge and practical skills.
